Sophie's Fave Foodie Apps

MY FAVE FOOD APPS

I've come to realize recently that there are a broad range of really neat iPad/Touch/Phone apps that can come in handy or really entertain you, food-wise. Here's a round up of the most recent Apps that I've purchased or freely installed for my apple products.

Ask the Cheesemonger

So my latest download called "Ask the Cheesemonger" is an app which I stumbled upon late last night whilst browsing for something new to gawk at on my phone. In this app, it's an informative Cheese connosier straight at your fingertips! Even with a freebie version of the premium, you are given various Cheese types and a brief description of what the Cheese origins, tastes like and --. Other features include the additional Wine Matchmaker that'll point you to the right direction for Cheese and Wine combos and a rather cheesy trivia game that is all about the fromage!

Taste

Just like Taste.com.au, this is their app! Whenever I'm in a mood for baking or cooking and in need of a quick recipe find, I open up my Taste app which provides you with various step-by-step recipes and stunning pictures to drool over.

Tipulator

I've had Tipulator on the backpage of my iPhone for quite a while now but it's one of those apps where it'll be a great thing to have stored for another days' use.

It's primary usage for me was when I was overseas to the USA in 2010. Prior to travelling I downloaded some travel guides and miscellaneous helpful gadgets like these. For me, I didn't want to calculate bills and tipping percentages whilst I was there and on occasion I used the calculator to help me out.

It's a nifty app that'll do just that in accordance to how many people you've dined with or what percentage of the costs you're looking for - either way, it is great help for making life easier for splitting bills!

NB: I really love the candy logo they use on their app, it's so cute and pretty - I'm such a girl haha.

Urbanspoon

Feel like a new dining experience, but you just don't know where and in need of inspiration? That's often the case for me, and this little Urbanspoon app just does the trick. With a "Shake" feature, you can pick and choose or go full swing on all categories and see what comes up. Restaurants by category are usually run down by: suburb, cuisine/cafe/restaurant types and price range.

Once you find a potential place it's often a bonus with this app that you get to see the general feedback synced from Urbanspoon's main website. Reviews and establishment information are at the ready!

Fruit Ninja

Who else is addicted to Fruit Ninja?
If not, you certainly will! Become a ninja master at fruit slicing with this easy to play game. At the swipe of your fingers, you take aim at the fruit that gets tossed up into the air for points and bonus combos. Do not slice the bombs! It's game over if you do...
