Today was a pretty relaxed city day out with MsKFlatWhite - my coffee drinking comrade that I haven't seen for 11 months since being in the States. We decided to catch up over coffee in the CBD's Le Pain Quotidien up over inside the Pitt Street Westfield which I've always admired from afar and never visited until today.
We take a window seat close by to the big black clock frame hanging over the window overlooking the streets below. There are plenty of delectable treats straight from their bakery to choose from to go with my beverage - my humble pot of tea - but I decide upon having a pain au chocolat (That's a chocolate croissant for those who aren't as French savvy.) and MsK orders her signature flat white coffee with their warm sticky date pudding which looks very well presented on a sleek serving plate. It's a moist and sugary-sweet pudding with a dash of cream and fresh strawberries on the side.
I quite like the look and feel of this Frenchy-chic cafe. It's a pretty convenient spot to just sit down after a mega shopping spree off Pitt Street or for a quick coffee hit. Also, I must admit I'm sold on the idea of having little ceramic bowls instead of the usual coffee cup to sip upon!
