Pizza Autentico, NSW

Pizza Autentico is a new restaurant over on Brisbane Street in Surry Hills and since reading about this place it's become one of my 'most wanting to visit' places because of it's interesting concept, casual atmosphere and affordability for eating out.

Do you ever have difficulty during eating out of having to browse through an extensive restaurant menu and then find it hard to decide on what should be your main course let alone dessert?

Not anymore! Customers for Pizza Autentico can relax and be catered for by having a delicious selection of delightfully fresh and tasty traditional pizzas and pastas that will be offered as an all-you-can-care-for (i.e: no limit on how many slices!) by waitstaff that will roam freely to your table with different variations for only $20 per person. There is also a selection of generous side dishes such as sicilian arancini balls for $9 each as well as melt-in-the-mouth dessert tasters for just $4.50.

Pizza bases are handcrafted by Italian chefs, as is the Napoli sauce which bursts with that perfect, rich tomato flavor, so savored by lovers of Italian food. There are 12 pizzas to try, all traditional toppings you would find in Italy, ranging from the simplest creations to others with toppings such as shaved beef, buffalo mozzarella and prosciutto - the stuff good things are made of! Don’t expect to find any toppings of lamb, chicken, potato, pumpkin or pineapple on the menu. Pizza Autentico’s five pastas also cover the spectrum, from traditional bolognese to orecchiette norma (eggplant and ricotta).

The inside of Pizza Autentico is quite intimate and sleek in it's red, white and black colour scheme and it's lower floor is taken up by a large communal table, adorned with funky graphics on one wall and an imaginative selection of elegantly framed black and white photographs showcased on the other.

A whimsy little bar space is kept upstairs for a casual after-dinner drink or two. Easily fitting around 20 people upstairs, the bar has a rather impressive cocktail menu as well as desserts for those wanting something a little bit sweet.

Here's a quirky tip: Look up! You'll see that they've got some funky ceiling lamp shades  that are actually colanders!
