Local Mbassy, NSW

You may have heard of the place or seen their visually pleasing red velvet pancakes that has had a sudden spike online. This comes from a place called Local MBassy, a new old school corner coffee shop opposite the Wentworth park along Wattle Street, Ultimo.

Newspaper boy hats, bike pedestal stools and their industrial open-spaced exposed pipes along cement makes this coffee pitt stop a cool new trend. We missed the big buzz of lunch people by coming by a little earlier on the week day to enjoy a semi-quiet cafe seated inside facing the bar.

We had to order the red velvet pancakes, two plates - it was a must. Mr. Bump had his own plate whilst Ms. FlatWhite and I shared our own plate together for lunch. We also enjoyed the wagyu beef burger with chunky steak chips served on their own customised wooden board in the form of a butchers cleaver.

Everything seems fresh and generous in portions. The pancakes were sweet and stacked up high whilst the burger was thick, meaty and the coffee orders are of the Campos Coffee quality. There's always a next time, and for the to-go stand I did glance upon during paying our bill to see some cruffin/cronut action as well.
